Carla Newell Managing Director | COO
Carla Newell is Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at GSR Ventures. Carla has an extensive background in both venture captial and portfoilo company operations. As a General Partner at Technology Crossover Ventures for over a decade, she led fundraising and investor relations, legal and regulatory as well as other operating functions. After leaving TCV, Carla was a senior executive at a number of PE and venture backed portfolio companies, including Ancestry.com and Sword Health. Most recently, Carla was part of an incubation team that launched a genomics start-up whose mission is to help doctors diagnose rare diseases in the NICU.
Carla is a graduate of the University of Chicago and received her J.D. from the University of Michigan.
